MV Fiji Princess

The MV Fiji Princess departs every Monday now thru March 30, 2009 for a week in Paradise and returns the following Sunday!

In Fiji, the word 'Bula' can mean 'hello', 'cheers', or 'welcome'. But it's really much more than a word: it's what happens when you take the bluest waters, the whitest beaches and the friendliest people on earth and mix it all together with the warmth of an island sun. It's the crossroads of adventure, romance and fun. It's what you feel when you succumb to utter relaxation.

Around the 22 beautiful Yasawa Islands with a choice of over 100 pristine, sheltered bays and beaches. Each cruise is individually charted based on wind, tide and weather conditions and departs from and returns to Lautoka. There is a visit to one of the remote island villages, a shell and handicraft market, with ample time for windsurfing, paddle boarding, snorkelling, spy boarding, swimming and fish feeding by hand. A visit is included to Blue Lagoon's private island, Nanuya Lailai and a chance to experience the ancient "yagona" ceremony and a "meke", the traditional Fijan song and dance performance.

Our Crew:
Our past passengers regularly remind us that one of the main features of a Blue Lagoon Cruise is the service and attention provided by the crew. All of our crew are Fijian men coming from many of the 360 Fijian Islands.

Dress:
A Blue Lagoon cruise is a carefree, relaxed holiday and dress is casual and informal. Light loose clothing is worn year round with a thin sweater during the evening during cooler months. In respect of Fijan traditions, when visiting the shell market or the village, modest clothing are recommended.

Your Itinerary

Day 1
Final Check-In time is 1:30pm at Blue Lagoon Cruises' pre-boarding lounge at Lautoka. After an opportunity for shopping at our well-stocked exclusive boutique and the fitting of snorkeling equipment you are transferred by coach to the wharf to board one of Blue Lagoon Cruises' stylish Club Class motor vessels.

Once onboard, we set a course to the most northernly part of the Mamanuca Group of islands. As the sun sets, complimentary champagne and hor d'oeuvres are served followed by the "Captain's Welcome" dinner and entertainment by your crew.

Day 2
We cruise through the coral cays and islands for our stop. Enjoy a swim or bushwalk and a beach barbeque ashore. Back on board, your Caprain sets a course for our next stop. Here you can see a basket weaving demonstration, swim or just laze on the beach. Tonight after on sunset cocktails, why not dress-up and join in the fun and festivities of our exotic theme night - East Indian delights.

Day 3
Our first island stop is an idyllic spot to coral view, swim, snorkel or sunbathe. Lunch aboard as we head to a traditional Fijian village. Here, passengers are welcomed as honoured guests to take part in the ancient and solemn "Yaqona" ceremony and peruse the shell market. Back on board, enjoy a tropical cocktail dinner.

Day 4
We cruise to the most northerly island in the Yasawas, one of the most pristine places in Fiji. The snorkelling is magic. Back on board for lunch as we cruise to another beauty spot. Here, too the swimming and snrokelling are wonderful. Tonight you dine ashore, under the stars. A fabulous Carvery evening dinner, with island music provided by your crew.

Guests have two itinerary options on day four (Thursday) of their cruise. Their first option is to depart the ship after breakfast at our private island paradise Nanuya Lailai. Here at the other end of our beautiful white beach is Nanuya Island Resort and they will be able to spend the day relaxing on our private beach, eating at and utilising the resort facilities before returning to the MV Fiji Princess before sunset to freshen up for cocktails. Their second option is to return with the MV Fiji Princess to Lautoka in the morning on Thursday, be hosted to a gourmet lunch and go shopping in Lautoka cruising back to Nanuya Lailai to rejoin the other passengers for sunset cocktails and canapés.

Day 5
This morning, we visit the local district school to see what it's like in a traditional Fijan classroom. Back on board, our Captain sets a course for another beach for the afternoon. You may choose to go on a snorkelling trip to the reef, enjoy a swim or a gentle walk on the beach. Dinner on board tonight with dancing and music.

Private Island Nanuya Lai Lai

Day 6
We have a full day and evening to enjoy Nanuya Lai Lai. Lots of activities to choose from, including kayaking, spy boarding, fishing, bush and beach walks. Or simply, relax under the palm trees. Tonight is island night. A 'lovo' fest is prepared in a ground oven. After dinner, a beach party captures the spirit and romance of the South Pacific.

Day 7
There's time for a morning swim before the anchor is lifted and the Captain sets course for Lautoka. Breakfast and morning refreshments are served as you cruise. That last memory of your week in the South Seas paradise will be the haunting lyrics of Fiji's unforgettable farewell song "Isa Lei", sung by your crew.
