ITINERARY
Day 1: USA or CANADA to SHANGHAI
Fly TransPacific aboard a wide-cabin 747 jetliner. Cross the International Date Line.
Day 2: SHANGHAI
Upon arrival in Shanghai, you are escorted to the Hua Ting Hotel & Towers to check in.
Day 3: SHANGHAI
Sightseeing introduces Shanghai's highlights: Nanjing or Huai Hai Road's popular emporiums, the Shanghai Museum exhibiting remarkable dynastic cultural artifacts, the Yu Yuan Garden, a carpet factory, the fabled European-styled Bund and entertainment in the Children's Palace.

Day 4: SHANGHAI to YICHANG*
Morning at leisure in Shanghai. Later fly to Yichang where you board your Victoria Cruises' Victoria Star or Victoria Empress to begin your memorable cruise upstream.

*If direct flight is not available, fly to Wuhan and travel by motorcoach on to Yichang.
Day 5: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE - SAN DOU PING to XILING GORGE
Stop at San Dou Ping to see the amazing progress at the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. Sail through the dramatic Three Gorges Shiplock before continuing through Xiling Gorge, longest of the famed Three Gorges.

Day 6: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE - WU GORGE / DANING RIVER SMALL GORGES or SHENNONG STREAM / QUTANG GORGE
Marvel at Wu Gorge's deep zigzagging valley. At Wushan, a cruiser takes you for an excursion up the Daning River's renowned Small Gorges-Dragon Gate, Misty or Emerald. Continue by sampan to the picturesque mini-gorges of the Ma Du River with its clear, swift running water, unusual rock formations, and monkeys and goats along the banks. Depending on the water level of the Yangtze River, your excursion may be on Shennong Stream with its equally spectacular small gorges. Depart Wushan, passing through dramatic Qutang Gorge, walled with steep mossy cliffs that crowd the sky.

Day 7: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE - FENGDU*
At Fengdu, a shore excursion shows Mingshan Hill's unique temples, with statues of ghosts and devils.

Day 8: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE - CHONGQING to XI'AN
Disembark in Chongqing. Visit the Stilwell Museum where you'll see an intriguing collection of World War II memorabilia of the famed Flying Tigers. Fly to Xi'an and check in to the Sheraton Xi'an Hotel.

Day 9: XI'AN
A memorable day of sightseeing begins as you view remnants of China's ancient past: the life-sized terra-cotta army, the Bronze Chariot, Circle Vision Movie and Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum.

Day 10: XI'AN to BEIJING
Fly to China's capital, Beijing and check in to the Capital Hotel Beijing.

Day 11: BEIJING
Today's sightseeing includes vast Tian An Men Square, impressive Ming extravagance at the Forbidden City's Imperial Palace including a tour of the living quarters, museum and jewelry sections. Continue on to visit the exquisite Summer Palace, with a boat ride on its Lake Kunming.

Day 12: BEIJING
Today tour the Great Wall, one of the most amazing feats of mankind.Walk atop the ancient ramparts, admiring the view of the Wall serpentining across the mountains.Visit a cloisonn factory to watch the skilled artisans create their intricate designs. Stroll along the Sacred
Way, lined with statues of warriors and mythical beasts, to the Ming Tombs and Chang Ling Exhibition Hall.Tonight, celebrate your memorable vacation at a Beijing Duck dinner party.

Day 13: BEIJING to USA or CANADA
