Item Description

Item #: 1394312

The ship offers many features already established by siblings Norwegian Dawn and Norwegian Star, including garden villas, 10 different restaurants, and an elaborate Mandara-operated spa. Also intriguing is that this ship, like the other two, is able to cruise at a maximum speed of 25 knots -- which gives NCL a lot of itinerary flexibility.

Norwegian Jewel also contains some fresh new features. Highlights include:

Dining options:

A major element of NCL's Freestyle cruising concept is an array of dining options where you can make reservations to dine at a time and table size of your choice. There will be ten restaurants in all featuring two main restaurants, a number of specialty restaurants and premium restaurants. In addition to the ones illustrated here, they will include Tango's (serving hot and spicy Latin/Tapas fare), Mama's Italian Kitchen (which will resemble a village trattoria and the feel of a traditional farmhouse kitchen), Blue Lagoon and NCL's signature Le Bistro.

Public rooms:

Norwegian Jewel will have many places for passengers to relax and be entertained. A new concept that will debut on the ship is called "Bar Central" where three bars with distinct personalities will be connected and share some common space.

Staterooms:

Staterooms modeled after those found aboard Norwegian Star and Norwegian Dawn... A large number of staterooms in most categories that can interconnect, making Norwegian Jewel ideal for families of any sort, shape or size.

The latest in relaxation and fitness in the state-of-the-art Bora Bora Health Spa.

Splashdown Kid's Club, Sapphire Kid's Pool and Underground Teen's Club make Norwegian Jewel particularly family-friendly.

Ports of Call

Miami, Florida
Miami is an international mecca with a colorful skyline and trend-setting culture. Claiming its place as a truly international city, you can feel Miami vibrate with the energies of different cultures coming together to revel in the beautiful ocean scenery and near-perfect tropical weather. Whether you're taking in the sights at a South Beach cafe), browsing the open-air shops of Bayside Marketplace or enjoying "un cortadito" in Little Havana, Miami is a melting pot for virtually anyone.

Samana, Dominican Republic
The largest city on the peninsula, located approximately 100 miles east of Puerto Plata, is called Santa Bárbara de Samaná, or Samana, for short, and is a port town that overlooks the country's largest bay, Bahia de Samana. The majority of Samana's visitors come for the amazing Humback whale-watching excursions. Other excursions in Samana include walking the Bridge To Nowhere; a visit to Cayo Levantado , or 'Bacardi Island' - the island used in the famous 1970's Bacardi rum commercials; or to Playa Rincón, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

Tortola, B.V.I.
Sail across the channel on yachts destined for Norman, Cooper, Salt or Pepper Islands. Here you can swim and snorkel into underwater caves and among colorful coral reefs. A scenic island tour takes you up Fort Hill to Cane Garden Bay where you can relax on spectacular white-sand beaches. Enjoy the tales of this historic waterway as you retrace the paths of Christopher Columbus and Sir Frances Drake.

St. John's, Antigua
Some people seek to climb every 14,000-foot peak in North America. Others spend years hiking the Appalachian Trail. Well, St. John's offers a different type of challenge - one that can test the limits of beach towels and sunblock like few can. With 365 beaches to explore, you will need to pace yourself. Rest assured that each beach is as beautiful and captivating as the last.

Bridgetown, Barbados
In British Barbados, cricket is the national sport and afternoon tea goes without saying, but it's true blue Caribbean as well, with classic sand beaches, hills carpeted in sugar cane and wild velvet monkeys in the jungle.

St. Lucia
Lush green hills, black sand beaches, tranquil blue lagoons and pink melting sunsets. This rainbow of colors can only be found on the unspoiled tropical retreat that is St. Lucia. Visitors are always awed by the array of hues offered by nature. Of course, there's equal grandeur in its magnificent coastline and famous twin mountains known as the Pitons.
