Note: Your trans-Pacific flight arrives in Nadi, Fiji two (2) days later at 5:10am Fiji time. Therefore, the package is 10 days length but includes only 7 nights hotel accommodations.

Once in Fiji, connect to your Air Fiji flight from Nadi to Taveuni Island, approximately a 1 hour, 10 minute flight. A mini-bus will meet you at the Taveuni Airport, and will take you on a scenic, 20 minute drive to the boat landing, where a Matangi Resort boat will meet you. This is a wet landing, so please be prepared to wade to the boat! The water taxi takes about 20 minutes to get to the resort.

Matangi Private Island Resort is a privately owned Fiji island, 240-acres in size, with a collapsed volcanic caldera shaped like a horseshoe. We are located an hour and 15 minutes flight from Nadi International Airport in Fiji's breathtaking Northern group of islands in the heart of the South Pacific.

Matangi Private Island Resort offers a total of eleven Beachfront Bures (a 'bure' is the Fijian word for bungalow) and three Tree House Bures, all boasting gorgeous views across the Tasman Strait and towards neighbouring islands. All accommodations are handcrafted to traditional design, using local timbers, bamboo and coconut palm thatch to blend into the tropical environment and harmonize with our climate. Our high ceilings and large louvre windows ensure the bures are kept cool without the use of air-conditioning. Whilst traditional in design, all bures feature modern amenities and our central restaurant with large wooden deck over the water likewise offers a cuisine combining both contemporary and traditional tastes.

Inside a Bure

Ten of the island's 240-acres is dedicated to the resort and have been carefully landscaped around the existing large trees using exotic and colourful plants to attract tropical birds including the orange dove and parakeet. The rest of the island is lush tropical jungle with a high volcanic rim enclosing a gorgeous Horseshoe Bay fringed by a secluded white sand beach. The island is surrounded by thriving coral reefs and aquamarine waters which await your exploration.

Accommodation Options:
Matangi Private Island Resort features some of the most unique accommodations in Fiji. We do not offer televisions, telephones or air-conditioning in order to maintain an environment free of modern distractions, although telephone and email service are available from the main office. Matangi offers guests a truly peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.

Accommodations as part of this offer are based on double occupancy in an Island Bure.
Guests may upgrade their stay to a Beachfront Bure for an additional $385.00 per person.
Guests may also upgrade their stay to a Tree House Bure for an additional $840.00 per person.

Tax and service charges of $295.00 per person are additional.

Single Supplement: Package is based on double occupancy but a Single Supplement of $1899.00 is available for those travelling solo and staying in an Island Bure. Single Guests upgrading their accommodations must double the cost for the upgrade to a Beachfront or Tree House Bure.
