DAY 1: Sunday August 31 - Arrive in Nuremberg*
Arrive in Munich (on your own arrangements - flights are NOT included) and transfer to your ship for embarkation. (Transfer from Munich to Nuremberg may be purchased for an additional cost). Later today, enjoy a tour includes a drive throughout this famous walled city, including the medieval square, the Church of Our Lady, and several World War II memorial sights along the way. Tonight, enjoy a gala welcome dinner on board.

DAY 2: Monday September 1 - Regensburg City Tour
Arrive in Regensburg in the early afternoon, one of Germany's best preserved medieval cities, and enjoy a walking tour that includes the Old Town Hall, the Dom St. Peter, the Roman Gates at Porta Pretoria, and one of the oldest stone bridges over the Danube. In the evening, delight in a regional dinner while sailing for Passau, meeting point of the Inn, Ilz and Danube Rivers.

DAY 3: Tuesday September 2 - Morning in Passau
This morning, arrive to Passau and enjoy a walking tour of this historic city. Rejoin the ship, and sail this afternoon passing the "Schloegener Schlinge," a beautiful part of the Danube with an unusual natural loop along the way. Tonight, taste the flavors of East Austria at a Heurigen dinner on board.

DAY 4: Wednesday September 3 - Melk Abbey Tour
Early morning arrival in Melk. Enjoy a guided tour of the historic Benedictine Abbey, considered one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Europe. This afternoon, cruise the Wachau Valley for Vienna.

DAY 5: Thursday September 4 - Full Day in Vienna
Your morning tour of Vienna begins with a drive along the famed Ringstrasse, Vienna's main boulevard, to the Hofburg Palace. Walk the courtyards to the Vienna State Opera House, continuing to view the Parliament, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Natural History, and City Hall. Afternoon at leisure. After dinner on board, come ashore for a concert in the heart of Vienna, featuring the works of Mozart and Strauss.

DAY 6: Friday September 5 - Morning in Bratislava
This morning join a tour of Bratislava, capital city of Slovakia, that begins at the Opera House and continues to view such sights as St. Martin's Cathedral, Town Hall, and Michael's Gate. Enjoy daylight sailing to Budapest. Dinner on board this evening.

DAY 7: Saturday September 6 - Full Day in Budapest
Early morning arrival in Budapest. Today's tour of the city begins in Pest and views the Parliament, Royal Palace, Heroes' Square, and Market Hall. Continue across the Danube via the Chain Bridge to the Buda Hills where you will view Matthias Coronation Church and Fisherman's Bastion on Castle Hill. In the afternoon, depart for the artisans village of Szentendre and enjoy time on your own upon arrival. This evening, celebrate your last night abroad at the captain's farewell dinner.

DAY 8: Sunday September 7 - Disembark & Depart for the USA

(1) Full day excursion to Salzburg, the famous cultural setting for the Sound of Music. This walking city tour takes you to see some of the historic sights for which Salzburg is known, including Mirabella Palace, the house where Mozart lived, Nonnberg Abbey, Salzburg Cathedral, and St. Peter's Cemetery. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and time at leisure to explore Salzburg on your own.
(2) Your Vienna by Night tour begins with a ride on the Riesenrad, German for "giant wheel," a 110-year-old Ferris wheel with a 200-foot diameter. From your fully-enclosed gondola, enjoy superb views of the old city of Vienna. Afterward, continue on to Grinzing, where you'll have the opportunity to experience true Austrian Gemütlichkeit, which is a sense of cosiness, belonging, and unhurried enjoyment, at a local Heuriger. Heurigen sell only their own wines and provide a warm, welcoming environment for guests. Here, taste a few of the local wines and enjoy the atmosphere.
