Savona (Genoa), Italy
A part of the Italian Riviera near Genoa, Savona is a city rich in history and enterprise, largely centered around its port. A tour of the city may include a visit to "Columbus's House," a former residence of Christopher Columbus nestled in the Savona hills. Or one may visit Savona's most important monument, the Priamar, a recently-restored castle stronghold located near the port.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
In the footsteps of the Ceasars you will spend your time in the Eternal City. From the Roman Forum, it's a short walk to the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine and Palatine Hill. Across the Tiber River, the Sovereign State of the Vatican holds the key to the Sistine Chapel and Bernini's awesome colonnade.

Mykonos, Greece
The island of Mykonos is one of the most picturesque - and popular - of the Cyclades archipelago, situated between Tinos and Naxos. During the peak season the island's local population of 5,000 inhabitants is swelled by a factor of ten or 15. Many visitors arrive at the island from Piraeus near Athens from where there is a daily ferry service, or by air from the Greek capital city. The picture-postcard main town of Mykonos is a maze of narrow streets lined with pretty white-washed houses and shops. Nearby are several splendid beaches.

Izmir, Turkey
Capital of a province, with nearly three million inhabitants, Smirne (Izmir in Turkish) is Turkey's second city, after Istanbul, thanks to its busy port and to the intense industrial activity which, from traditional fields tied to agriculture, has expanded to include shipbuilding, mechanical and chemical plants for oil refinery. Located within a beautiful bay, surrounded by lovely hills, the town has changed in the course of recent years, into a modern metropolis with an established urbanistic structure and new residencial areas.

Istanbul, Turkey
Blurring the line between east and west, Istanbul stands at the crossroads of two continents. The city's architecture is rivalled only by its spectacular natural setting on the Bosphorus Strait. See the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and the Byzantine Church of St Sophia. Take time to wander through the Grand Bazaar or the Spice Market and sample baklava and shish kebabs.

Odessa, Ukraine
"Pearl of the Black Sea." From the seafront, it is 192 monumental Potemkin Steps to bustling Primorsky Boulevard. Your reward: museums, shops, and delightful open-air cafes with views of the Gulf of Odessa.

Yalta, Ukraine
Center of the Ukraine Riviera, Yalta is the home of Livadia Palace, where Churchhill, Roosevelt and Stalin decided the future of Europe in 1945; and the Swallow's Nest, a fairy tale castle all in white.

Katakolon, Greece
In the quiet of the original Olympic stadium, where the torch was first lit and the winners were crowned with a laurel wreath, let your imagination run. Step into the ruined archives of Greek mythology at the Temple of Zeus—one of the few remaining Wonders of the Ancient World.
