Ports of Call

Valparaiso (Santiago), Chile
Explore the serpentine streets and steep hills of Valparaiso, where 15 ascensores (romantic wooden trams) connect the city's sights. Nearby is Chile's main seaside resort, Vina del Mar, with beaches, beautiful parks and gardens, and an impressive casino. Or, partake in an excursion to Chile's capital city, Santiago.

Coquimbo (La Serena), Chile

Arica, Chile
In Arica, edged by the immense Atacama Desert, extraterrestrials appear in local folklore. And almost out of this world is the "altiplano" of the Parque Nacional Lauca - grassy steppes and rugged mountains a mere 14,500 feet above sea level.

Lima (Callao), Peru
The "City of Kings" has a tempestuous history - history that may best be discovered by visiting any one of the many museums throughout Lima. But if shopping is more your style, head to upscale districts of San Isidro and Miraflores or try your hand at bartering with one of the local street merchants. Optional tour of the ancient Incas Ruins of Machu Picchu available.

Salaverry (Trujillo), Peru
To the north is the "Lordiest City" of Trujillo, founded in 1535 and till rich in ornate colonial detail. At its edge, far older and long abandoned by the Chimu Indians, sits the eerie adobe metroplois of Chan Chan.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Costa Rica is Central America's "crown jewel." Brimming with natural attractions, wildlife and a reputation for enlightened conservation, Costa Rica is an ecotourism heaven and one of the only places where you can experience the tropics in a natural environment with minimal impact. Enjoy the natural beauty of this scenic oasis and the warm hospitality of its friendly inhabitants.

Acapulco, Mexico
Acapulco, which is virtually synonymous with luxury, is a place where the rich and famous come to escape. Take the scenic highway for a striking panoramic view of the beaches and mountains, and note the beautiful homes and lush gardens as you pass through Las Brisas. And make sure you take time to see the thrilling cliff divers plunge into the turbulent waters of Le Quebrada.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta has all the amenities of a classic beach resort: surf, sand and sun. But it also offers so much more. Perfect honeymooners, families and seniors alike, Puerto Vallarta offers sport fishing, golfing, horseback riding, hiking and whale watching. Boasting mountains, jungles, beaches, rivers and waterfalls, this port is completely different from any other destination in Mexico. Puerto Vallarta is a modern destination that remains loyal to its traditional Mexican roots. And that's just scratching the surface.

Los Angeles, California
It's an exciting semitropical city of palm trees, swimming pools, television studios and aerospace factories. Los Angeles is one of the world's most exciting cities and the movie-making capital of the world. Wherever you visit, from ritzy Beverly Hills to the wondrous Hollywood Bowl, you'll have an unforgettable stay.
