Location. The newly restored Hotel du Pont has hosted travelers since 1913. The awardwinning 4 Star, 4 Diamond hotel is located in downtown Wilmington, conveniently situated in the heart of the historic Brandywine Valley midway between New York and Washington DC, and only a 25-minute drive from the Philadelphia International Airport. The property is within seven miles of the Hagley Museum, Winterthur Museum and the Delaware Museum. Brandywine Valley, featuring more than 1,000 acres of indoor and outdoor gardens, is within five miles of the hotel. Hotel Features. From the original artwork and antique furnishings, to the intricately molded ceilings and ornate woodwork, the Hotel du Pont's European heritage is apparent with each detail. Sparkling chandeliers, sleek marble floors and rich mosaics reflect the grandeur of the hotel's past. Modern details like high-speed wired and wireless Internet access reflect the hotel's present. Fine French-Continental dining is available at the Green Room, where specialties include Chilled Foie Gras Terrine, Porcini-dusted Veal Porterhouse and Cumino-dusted Tuna Medallion. Live music accompanies dinner guests Thursday through Sunday.
Guestrooms. French-style décor in the guestrooms reiterates the hotel's heritage. Separate seating areas in each room offer additional sitting space. Deep-soaking tubs and separate showers outfit each bathroom. Complimentary newspaper delivery, room service and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access are available. Stay a minimum of 1 Night or up to 7 Nights as desired and based on availability. Inventory is very limited. Auction Winners are advised to submit their preferred travel dates upon winning of the auction. Tax and service charges are $49.00 per room per night additional.
