After great success in the Hamptons and years of inquiries as to when Bobby Van's would come to New York City, a personal invitation by Leona Helmsley in 1996 swayed owners to open a second location in her Park Avenue & 46th Street building. Since opening, the Manhattan steakhouse has received national accolades, including being proclaimed "My favorite in Manhattan" in 1999 by a reviewer for Gourmet magazine.

In turn, as increasing numbers of Bobby Van's New York Clientèle increased their business trips to Washington, there were growing requests for the owners to open a restaurant in the nation's capital. Viewing Washington as an upcoming world-class restaurant city, the owners made the decision, opening just two blocks from the White House in March 2000. Another New York City location soon followed and since then we have grown to multiple locations with more on the horizon.

All Bobby Van's locations are run under the watchful eye of on-site owners and general managers, who offer a steadfast commitment to remain true to their original vision.
