This is a Bid Per Person Auction. Bid for the price you are willing to pay for a single person. When you win, you may request up to 4 people to travel at your per person winning price each. For example, if you win this auction for $50, then up to 4 people may travel for $50 each!

Depart April 15, 2010 thru October 15, 2010 via the services of South African Airways from New York, Washington or many other US Departure cities at additional cost (See below for details) into Johannesburg and return to the US from Capetown, South Africa. (Don't see your city listed? Ask for a quote in the comment section.)

Once in Johannesburg, your amazing 8 day FIVE STAR South African Safari begins!

ITINERARY

DAY 1 - USA to Johannesburg
Fly from USA to JOHANNESBURG via overnight flight on South African Airways.

An round-trip upgrade to Business Class on the transatlantic sectors are available for an additional $4900 per person. The upgrade is blacked out May and June 2010.

DAY 2 – ARRIVAL AT JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA
On arrival in Johannesburg a representative from iKapa Tours & Travel will collect you from the airport for your transfer to the D’Oreale Grand/Similar where you will be accommodated overnight including breakfast.

Johannesburg or more commonly known as Jo’burg is where the money is. Johannesburg was born out of the discovery of gold, but this once dusty mining town has emerged to become a modern city thriving with commercial, financial, industrial and trading opportunities. It is the headquarters of numerous international corporations and government institutions. It is a city filled with excitement and contrasts through the unique cultural and social history of the people.

D’Oreale Grand Hotel
This ultra luxurious 5 star hotel features 196 beautifully designed and impeccable appointed guest rooms and suites that are fitted with state-of-the-art facilities and surround you with the utmost elegance and regal comfort. The hotel’s comfort is not only in its furnishings, but also in the impeccable levels of service with anticipate individual needs and wishes. All rooms incorporate air-conditioning, satellite TV, wireless internet access (Wi-Fi) and the luxury of 24-hour room service. Dine at the elegant Aurelia’s restaurant, absorb the strains of the piano permeating the Aurelia’s Lounge and Cocktail bar, or sip on a cocktail while watching the African sunset at Neptune’s Pool Bar. Guests have full access to casino, dining, entertainment, convention and relaxation facilities of the Emperors Palace resort.

DAY 3 – JOHANNESBURG TO KRUGER
Transfer from your hotel to O.R. Tambo International Airport for your charter flight to the Kruger National Park. Arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport where you are met and transferred to Jock Safari Lodge.

Lunch and relaxation time is enjoyed until the big game drive starts in the late afternoon. Beverages and snacks are served at a scenic place en route to watch the African sunset. Once back from the evening game drive, dinner is served at the lodge or in your own room if you wish.

Jock Safari Lodge
Jock Safari Lodge is one of the very first privately owned camps situated in the world famous Kruger National Park, with exclusive traversing rights in what is regarded as the best Big Five game viewing area in the Kruger National Park. Situated at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti Rivers, this luxury lodge offers stunning views, with the pool literally on the confluence. Each air-conditioned luxury suite is set along the rivers, offering all the luxuries yet evoking the style and romance of the past as well as the indigenous Swazi and Shangaan cultures.

Game drives in open landrovers, with our professional team of game rangers, offer guests the thrill of close encounters with Africa’s Big Five. Walking safaris, Birding safaris and guided Historical tours will take you along the paths of legend and mystery. Interpret the signs, sounds and scents of wild animals in this unspoilt wilderness.

DAY 4 – KRUGER
Early morning game drives start with a wake up call between 05h00 and 06h00; tea and coffee is served in the lounge before heading our for your game drive. Leave in time to catch the sunrise & great animal viewing. Return to camp by 9am and enjoy a hearty breakfast.

Join guided Walking safaris after breakfast where our game rangers offer fauna and flora lectures and magnificent rock art viewing. Each topic is discussed and guests are welcome to set the pace as they wish. There is of course always the good possibility of game viewing on these outings.

Lunch and relaxation time is enjoyed until the big game drive starts in the late afternoon.

Beverages and snacks are served at a scenic place en route to watch the African sunset. Once back from the evening game drive, dinner is served at the lodge or in your own room if you wish.

DAY 5 – KRUGER TO CAPE TOWN
After your early morning game drive and breakfast you are transferred to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for your flight back to Johannesburg which connects to Cape Town. Arrival at Cape Town International Airport where you are met and transferred to your accommodation.

DAY 6 – CITY TOUR (Scheduled Tour)
You are collected from your hotel and taken to the lower cableway station on the slopes of Table Mountain. Weather permitting, ascend the mountain by aerial cable car (entrance fee excluded), and from a height of 1067 metres, view the city and Table Bay below, Robben Island, the Atlantic Seaboard as well as most of the spectacular Cape Peninsula. Afterwards, head down into the Malay Quarter with its’ narrow cobbled streets and colourful Mosques. Next we continue to Government Avenue where we park at the top and stroll to the National Gallery and SA Museum, as well as view the Houses of Parliament. We then travel to the City Hall on the Grand Parade and afterwards, visit the Castle. Enter the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront – a region that abounds with shops, pubs, restaurants and entertainment. You may either leave the tour here to explore on your own, or return to your hotel in the early afternoon.

DAY 7 – CAPE PENINSULA TOUR (Scheduled Tour)
After being collected from your hotel, you will view the exclusive suburbs of Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay before continuing via Llandudno to the fishing harbour of Hout Bay. If calm seas prevail, join an optional launch cruise to view the Duiker Island seals and cormorants at close quarters. Travel along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to Kommetjie, and enter the Cape Point Nature Reserve where you will be taken to the best vantage point to view what is erroneously said to be the meeting place of two mighty oceans. After a stop for lunch (own account), the tour continues to an African penguin colony, the Naval hamlet of Simon’s Town and then continues via Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay to Muizenberg. In the early afternoon visit the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Return to the city via Rhodes Drive, which bisects the plush suburbs of Bishopscourt, Claremont and Newlands. The tour terminates at your hotel again in the late afternoon.

DAY 8 – DEPARTURE FROM CAPE TOWN

Single Supplement:
Offer is based on double occupancy in a room, however a single supplement of $575.00 additional is available to those traveling or rooming solo on a date with other booked Skyauction customers. The tour cannot be arranged for less than 2 guests.

Triples (incl. children) are not permitted due to room types booked. A triple would need to purchase one double and one single room with single supplement.
